PRESS RELEASE
Launch of 5th Mid Cap Senior Debt fund,
"CIC Debt Fund 5" with an initial closing of €194 million
Paris, October 8, 2025
The investment team of CIC Private Debt's Mid Cap Senior Debt division is pleased to announce the launch of the 5th vintage of its fund. CIC Debt Fund 5 held its first closing last July at €194m, with a target of €600m and a hard cap of €750m.
CIC Debt Fund 5 is a continuation of the 4 previous funds. Since 2013, the team has invested more than €2.5bn in nearly 200 financing deals for French small & mid-cap companies, with EBITDA generally between €10 to 50m, across buyout and/or internal and external growth financing situations.
The fund offers an attractive risk/return profile, based on a conservative approach to risk and a highly granular portfolio (more than 50 lines). The implementation of this strategy is expected to continue to benefit from a broad, multi-channel deal flow, enhanced by the close partnership with CIC's acquisition finance teams.
CIC Debt Fund 5 has already begun its deployment, committing €40m to 9 companies.
It also plans to invest up to 25% in France's neighboring countries, particularly in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). This process started in 2024 when CIC Private Debt expanded its presence to Germany with the recruitment of an Investment Director based in Frankfurt. In this context, 2 senior mid-cap investments in German companies have already been made.
The Senior Mid Cap Debt team headed by Alexis Drouillot consists of 9 portfolio managers, including 5 senior (1 in Germany), dedicated to this strategy.
